Bangladesh must beat host Nepal Sunday to reach the final of the 13th South Asian Games.

The last match of the five-team round-robin league will be held at Dasharath Rangasala Syadium in Kathmandu at 5pm.

Only Bhutan sealed a place in the gold-medal game after beating Sri Lanka 3-0 Saturday, with total nine points from four matches.

Nepal are currently sitting second in the standing with seven points, while Bangladesh have four.

The head-to-head equation would come into effect if two teams have equal points, and Bangladesh have no other option but to beat the reigning champion Nepal, who came from behind to beat Maldives 2-1 Saturday.

“We don't want to do too much training with the boys. It's nice to have a bit of fun,” said Bangladesh coach Jamie Day after Saturday's training session.

He added, "Nepal are a good team, they can score goals. But we need to focus on what we have to do and we have to make sure we do that."

Skipper Jamal Bhuiyan said, “We must have to win so we have only one target (Sunday). Nepal are a good team. They are doing well. They have a game [Saturday] so they will be tired [Sunday], which is an advantage for us.”

Bangladesh kicked off the campaign with a 1-0 defeat against Bhutan before playing out a 1-1 draw against Maldives and winning 1-0 against Sri Lanka.
