India's Mayank Agarwal plays a shot during day two of their first Test against Bangladesh in Indore Friday AFP

Mayank Agarwal was dismissed for 243 off 330 balls with 28 fours and eight sixes

Abu Jayed provided some hope to Bangladesh by picking up two important wickets in the morning session but one man stood tall throughout the day’s proceedings and  batted beautifully to ensure India’s dominance on day two.

Mayank Agarwal, the India opener, scored a magnificent double century with a composed and positive approach.

This is the second double century for the right-hander in his short career of eight Test matches, and 13 innings.

Agarwal reached his hundred in the 60th over of India’s innings, facing 183 deliveries.

After reaching the three-figure mark, he was in attacking mood and started to score runs all over the park with plenty of sixes.

He reached his double ton with a maximum.

His double hundred came in 303 deliveries.

Finally, he was dismissed for 243 off 330 balls with 28 fours and eight sixes.

He got out trying to clear the boundary against Mehedi Hasan Miraz only to get caught at the boundary line by Jayed in the 108th over of the innings.

A superb knock from the opener.
