Bangladesh U-19 cricket team took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the five-match youth ODI series after thumping their Sri Lankan counterparts by 161 runs in the third game at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong Thursday.
Asked to take first guard, the junior Tigers made a commanding 340 losing seven wickets in their stipulated 50 overs.
Middle-order batsman Towhid Hridoy scored the highest 123 off just 98 balls with eight fours and half a dozen sixes.
There were also half-centuries from opener Tanzid Hasan (60), No 3 batsman Mahmudul Hasan Joy (52) and captain Akbar Ali (52).
Sri Lanka’s Dilshan Madushanka and Kavindu Nadeeshan bagged two wickets apiece.

In reply, the Lankans were bundled out for only 179 in 31.2 overs, left-arm seamer Shariful Islam and right-arm pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib taking two wickets each.
Lankan opener Navod Paranavithana top-scored for his side with a 32-ball 50.
The first match was earlier abandoned at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna Saturday while the junior Tigers won the second game at the same venue by five wickets Monday.
The fourth and penultimate match will be held Sunday in the port city.
The two teams earlier played out draws in the two-game youth Test series.
