In Sunday's matches at the same venue, Afghanistan will take on Nepal at 1pm while Bangladesh will lock horns with Maldives at 3pm

Bangladesh were off to a winning start in the Bangamata Asian Senior Women’s Central Zone International Volleyball as they beat Afghanistan by 3-0 sets at Shaheed Sohrawardi Indoor Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka Saturday.

The visiting side were no match for the women in red and green, losing the three sets 25-9, 25-9, 25-3.

Meanwhile in the inaugural match of the tournament, Maldives defeated Kyrgyzstan by 3-2 sets.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury earlier inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest.

In Sunday's matches at the same venue, Afghanistan will take on Nepal at 1pm while Bangladesh will lock horns with Maldives at 3pm.
