South Asian Karate begins Friday

A press conference was held in Dhaka Thursday where Bangladesh Karate Federation president Dr Mohammad Mozammel Haque Khan revealed the details of the meet BKF

Around 245 players from five countries - India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and host Bangladesh -  will be participating in 60 events across different categories – cadet, junior, U-21 and senior – in the tournament

The two-day long 5th South Asian Karate Championship is all set to get underway at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in Dhaka Friday.

Around 245 players from five countries - India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and host Bangladesh -  will be participating in 60 events across different categories – cadet, junior, U-21 and senior – in the tournament.

A press conference was held at the National Sports Council conference room Thursday where Bangladesh Karate Federation president Dr Mohammad Mozammel Haque Khan revealed the details of the meet. 

Bangladesh began their preparation for December’s South Asian Games five months ago.

“Bangladesh players trained in Malaysia a few days ago. They will be in continuous game and practice through this tournament. It will be a part of the preparation ahead of the SA Games next month,” said Mozammel.
