Soumya dedicates win to Shakib, Tamim

Bangladesh opening batsman Soumya Sarkar dedicated the victory in the first T20I against India to Shakib al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal, who are both missing from the much-anticipated tour of their sub-continent rival.

After eight failed attempts, the Tigers finally got the better of India in the shortest format, registering a seven-wicket win at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi Sunday.

And Soumya, who played a vital role with the bat scoring a 35-ball 39 in pursuit of India’s 149, dedicated the win to the two Bangladesh stalwarts.

The southpaw after the game said, “Everybody was cool and calm, we all were thinking positive. Tamim and Shakib are senior players, we dedicate this win to them.”
