Rohit Sharma said there is no chance of India taking Bangladesh lightly, as the Tigers still have some good players who have matured over the years
India captain Rohit Sharma has said Bangladesh always put up a strong fight against Team India, and will be a competitive opponent once agin in the upcoming series despite the absence of some key players.
Opening batsman Tamim Iqbal and all-rounder Shakib al Hasan are not taking part in the series, as Tamim is on leave and Shakib has been banned by the International Cricket Council.
However, Rohit said there is no chance of India taking Bangladesh lightly, as the Tigers still have some good players who have matured over the years.
“Bangladesh (are) a very, very good team. Over the years, we have seen how they have performed not just at home, but also away. Especially against us, they have always put us under pressure. There is no way we look at this team differently,” the interim India captain said during the pre-match press conference at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi Saturday.

“I understand there are two key players missing but they still have quality players in their squad that can upset any team. I wouldn’t say upset. I would say they can beat any team on that particular given day. That’s a good word to use. They are very mature cricketers now. All these players have played for a long time. There are a few young players too,” he added.
Rohit further said India are focusing on their own game plan and not thinking about the opposition, as India also have some exciting youngsters who want to show their talent in the series.
The first match of the three-T20I series will be played in the Indian capital in the evening Sunday.
