Bookie Deepak Aggarwal also approached the Bangladesh batsman, who reported the incident
According to sources within the Bangladesh Cricket Board, opening batsman Tamim Iqbal was also approached by listed bookie Deepak Aggarwal, the same individual who approached Shakib al Hasan, who has received a two-year ban from the International Cricket Council for failing to report the incident.
In 2017, Aggarwal reached out to Tamim over WhatsApp messages – just like he did with Shakib.
Tamim, unlike his fellow compatriot, did not fail to report the approach made towards him to BCB’s head of Anti-Corruption department, Major Abu Mohammad Humayun Morshed (retd.).
Earlier this year, Tamim was summoned by the visiting team of officials investigating Shakib’s case.

He was questioned at a hotel in Dhaka where the officials asked him about Aggarwal’s approaches towards him.
In his response, Tamim swiftly mentioned how he notified the BCB’s Anti-Corruption department.
Major Morshed, then, on behalf of BCB, confirmed to the ICC officials about the batsman reporting the incident as soon as the approach was made.
Following the confirmation, Tamim was “cleared” by ICC’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit.
