Liton Das and the experienced Naeem Islam scored centuries for Rangpur against Dhaka in their high-scoring match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong Saturday while Al Amin Hossain and experienced campaigner Abdur Razzak got four-fors for Khulna against Rajshahi

The third and penultimate day of the National Cricket League saw centuries from batsmen as well as a few four-fors from bowlers as the last day of the matches in four different venues are expected to end in thrilling finishes. 

Liton Das and the experienced Naeem Islam scored centuries for Rangpur against Dhaka in their high-scoring match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong Saturday while Al Amin Hossain and experienced campaigner Abdur Razzak got four-fors for Khulna against Rajshahi.

Khulna’s wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan made a valiant 97 to help his side gain an important lead in the first innings before Razzak and Al-Amin bowled brilliantly to wrap Rajshahi’s second innings for just 170 to give their batsmen a target of 123.

Khulna lost opening batsman Anamul Haque for four but ended the innings on 15/1 and will look forward to clinch the match on the last day with two national team players Imrul Kayes and Soumya Sarkar who scored 93 and a duck respectively in the first innings.

Earlier in the day, Khulna resumed on 227/6 replying to Rajshahi’s 261 and Nurul, who started the day on 35, carried the innings with the tail enders to get it past 300. 

Though the batsman missed his ton, he helped give his side a crucial lead of 48 runs. 

National team pacer Mustafizur Rahman dislodged Rajshahi opener Mizanur Rahman for a duck in the very first over in their second inning before Razzak and Al-Amin, who ended with 4/62 and 4/17 accordingly, wrecked havoc in the opponents’ batting line.
