Captain Nasir Hossain got out for one and next batsman Ariful Haque got back to the pavilion with a lowly 17 but Naeem got a good partner in Tanbir Hayder, who remained not out on 52, as the pair added 96 before stumps.
Naeem, one of the most successful batsmen in the domestic arena, remained not out on 124 in his typically patient knock where he faced 296 balls.
