If medical reports suggest, Saifuddin might go under the blades, and may even change his bowling action

Bangladesh seamer-allrounder Saifuddin does not mind a change in his bowling action if it comes to survival in the national team.

The right-arm pacer has been suffering from a back injury for a long time and the Bangladesh national think-tank has limited his services to the shorter formats only.

While majority of the national cricketers are preparing for the tour of India in November playing at least two rounds of the National Cricket League [first-class cricket tournament], Saifuddin is passing his idle time in bed rest.

Saifuddin informed that he and the BCB medical team are now counting on medical reports that are to be received soon.

The reports will be sent to doctors in England and the next course of action will depend on the reports.

If reports suggest, Saifuddin might go under the blades, and may even change his bowling action.

“They [BCB medical team] are in communication with the doctors in England. Some reports have already been sent to them and some more will be sent soon. We will get to understand the next course of my treatment once all reports are sent to England,” informed Saifuddin to the reporters at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka Wednesday.

“[In case there is need of a bowling change] I do not mind doing the right things for the sustainability of my career. If you look at Mashrafe [bin Mortaza] bhai, he has played cricket despite a long list of surgeries. I have just started, if might be challenging but I am ready to do anything. Cricket is my bread and butter, my profession,” said the 22-year old.

Since his international debut in April 2017, Saifuddin has played 20 ODIs and 13 T20Is.

The right-arm medium fast bowler has picked up 36 international wickets so far.

Meanwhile, another national pace bowler Taskin Ahmed is set to return to action through the third round of the National League.

Right-arm pacer Taskin, who recuperated from a side strain injury, was in action at the BCB Academy nets Wednesday.
