Youngster Afif Hossain expressed hope of winning all three unofficial ODIs against Sri Lanka A as he, alongside batsman Saif Hasan, off-spinner Nayeem Hasan, seamer Abu Haider Rony and all-rounder Ariful Haque were included in the Bangladesh A side.
The quintet will travel to the island nation to strengthen the second-string Bangladesh side, who drew the first unofficial Test and are currently playing the second and final unofficial Test.
The one-day series will get underway Wednesday in Hambantota.
“There were two days for practice. Everyone did training individually. The five players including me, who are going to Sri Lanka, used those two days. We will try to play well,” said Afif to the media at the Academy premises in Mirpur, Dhaka Saturday.
“The opponents are formidable when playing for A team or HP. So if we can perform well against those teams, it increases our confidence. I got the confidence and that will help me in the coming days. Our aim is to win all three games there. I will try to play good cricket for the team,’’ he added.
