Nazmul Hossain Shanto scored 11 in his debut match Wednesday and in Saturday's match against Afghanistan he once again failed to make good of the chance as he made only five
Bangladesh top-order batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto failed to capitalize yet another chance as the left-hander scored just five runs off eight deliveries during their tri-nation T20I series match against Afghanistan at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium Saturday.
Shanto was picked in the squad in the middle of the series along with another opener Naim Sheikh.
Team management opted to give Shanto opportunity in the shortest format ahead of Naim and the former made his T20I debut in the last game against Zimbabwe.

@BCBtigers defeated @ACBofficials in the T20I format after more than five years as the Tigers managed a nervy four-wicket win over the Afghans during their tri-nation T20I series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium Saturday.https://t.co/HYpVRVzfDM#BCBTIGERS #BCB #TIGERS #ACB— Dhaka Tribune Sports (@Sport_DT) September 21, 2019
Shanto tried to play an on drive but failed to read the slower delivery from Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq.
As a result the ball went in the air in the mid-wicket region and Afghan skipper Rashid Khan made no mistake taking the catch comfortably.
With Tamim Iqbal available in the next series and Soumya Sarkar waiting in the wings, Shanto’s chances of keeping his position in the playing XI is getting tough until or unless he plays a brilliant innings in the final.
