The observations of both Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi and Badal Roy on the financial statements of 2016-18 fiscal years are similar but the latter didn’t hesitate to point fingers towards BFF president Kazi Salahuddin
Another Bangladesh Football Federation vice president Badal Roy blasted the federation authorities for financial irregularities in the last three years’ audit reports Tuesday; only a day after BFF VP Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi raised similar allegations against the country’s football governing body.
The observations of both Mohi and Roy on the financial statements of 2016-18 fiscal years are similar but the latter didn’t hesitate to point fingers towards BFF president Kazi Salahuddin.
“My first glance at the audit reports during the last executive committee meeting was not good. It seemed faulty to me. Some other members including another vice president also thought the same. I don’t know why some executive members were crazy enough to approve it,” said Roy at his BFF office room Tuesday, adding that the reports were also not approved by the finance committee.
“It is not legal to show the expenditure of the years before 2015 in the 2016-2018 audit reports to make the balance. I personally examine these reports with a professional auditor because I’m a responsible person. The BFF also spent $0.7m, funded by Fifa for BFF Football Academy, for other purposes, which is not acceptable,” said Roy, who has not been fully active in BFF since his brain hemorrhage in June, 2017.
Roy continued, “The BFF president [Salahuddin] is responsible for all of this because he never cared about the rules and did everything according to his own wish. We are requesting him to give a proper explanation and call a meeting. If we don’t get the right answers we will take stricter stance.”
