Ryan Burl said he had a chat with Shakib al Hasan after the presentation ceremony and expressed delight to get appreciated by the Bangladesh captain
Zimbabwe all-rounder Ryan Burl informed that Tigers skipper Shakib al Hasan praised his effort after the match and appreciated his batting performance as he blasted 30 runs in one Shakib over during the first innings.
Bangladesh won the first T20I narrowly, by three wickets and two balls to spare, while chasing a competitive total.
Riding on Burl’s 57 off 32 balls, Zimbabwe posted a challenging 144 on the board, despite losing early wickets.
Shakib conceded 30 in the 16th over and credit goes to Burl, who smashed three sixes and as many fours with clean sweep shots, power hitting and good placement.
The left-hander said he had a chat with Shakib after the presentation ceremony and expressed delight to get appreciated by the Bangladesh captain.

“Shakib did come to me after the match presentation. We had a quick chat and he praised me. It was nice to get appreciation from a player like Shakib. So it was pretty good for me (smiles),” Burl said in the post-match press conference Friday.
Zimbabwe were in a good position to seal the match as Bangladesh were reeling on 60/6 at one stage while chasing 144.
The 25-year old Burl believes it was a good competitive score but they could not finish off the job in the late stages due to a brilliant partnership by Afif Hossain and Mosaddek Hossain.
“I thought it was competitive. But you can never relax in T20 cricket. One over can change the game and we saw a brilliant partnership by Afif and Mosaddek changed the game very quickly. Afif batted really well. We should have fielded better. But credit goes to the opponent as they finished so well,” said Burl.
