Swimmers created 11 records on the second day of the 33rd edition of the age-level swimming at Syed Nazrul Islam National Swimming Complex Wednesday.
BKSP’s Mobarak Hossain made a record in the U-12 boys’ 200m free-style with a timing 2 minutes 20.06 seconds.
The previous record in this event belonged to Zahidul Islam, who timed 2mins 22.34s.
Mobarak had made two records on the previous day in the 100m free-style and 100m butterfly.
In the U-12 girls’ 200m free-style, Bangladesh Ansar’s Annie Khatun timed 2mins 36.43s to break Nazma Khatun’s record of 2mins 36.99s, set in 2009.
Meanwhile, in the U-20 men’s backstroke, Samiul Islam broke Abu Bakar’s record with a timing of 2mins 24.54s.
Bakar’s record was 2mins 27.37s, set in 2017.
In the same event in the women’s division, BKSP’s Sraboni Akter scored 2mins 56.82s to break a record set by Mariam Khatun (3mins 0.96s) in 2014.
Robiul Islam from Pabna Zila Krira Sangstha created a new record in the U-17 boys’ 200m free-style, finishing in 2mins 7.21s.
The previous record was set in 2012 and it belonged to Ariful Islam (2mins 8.86s).
In 50m free-style of boys aged below 10, BKSP’s Shuvro Mia took 31.30s to make a new record.
He made another record in the 50m butterfly, with a timing of 32.86s.
Doi Khoi Pru Marma broke her own record in the women’s U-20 100m free-style with a timing of 1min 8.52s.
Meanwhile in the girls’ U-17 50m free-style, Chumma Khatun made a new record with 29.93s, and in the boys’ U-17 1,500m free-style, Robiul took 18mins and 4.01s to create a new record.
In the U-10 girls’ 50m butterfly, BKSP’s Othoi took 37.53s to break Rupa Khatun’s record (39.02s), set in 2015.
