Heavy rainfall and thunderstorm postponed top-placed Bashundhara Kings’ Wednesday's Bangladesh Premier League game against Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited at Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Nilphamari after the game rolled on the pitch for only two and a half minutes.
The game will resume Thursday at the same venue at 4pm after three minutes of play and a draw would be enough for Bashundhara to ensure their maiden professional league title on debut.
There was heavy rainfall before the kick-off and when the game started there was also thunderstorms which forced the referee to stop the game.
After waiting for around an hour, the game was declared postponed due to unsuitable condition of the pitch.

Bashundhara could have started the celebration of winning the title with only a point Wednesday as second-placed Abahani Limited were held to a draw by Chittagong Abahani Limited at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka on the same day.
Bashundhara, the big-spending new powerhouse, top the 13-team points table with 58 points from 21 matches while second-placed Abahani have 55 points from 23 games.
Bashundhara need only a point in their remaining three matches to confirm the title.
