Both the matches will get international status
The BCB will host two T20 matches between the Asia XI and the World XI to commemorate the hundredth birthday of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on March 17 next year.
The matches will take place from March 18 to 21, as confirmed by BCB president Nazmul Hasan in a press briefing Wednesday.
Both the matches will get international status.
“The dates of the matches have been finalized. The matches will take place between March 18 and March 21. We have not contacted anyone yet, but players from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will take part alongside the Bangladesh cricketers in Asia XI”, said BCB boss Nazmul.
He also mentioned, “We will have to discount players from teams who will have FTP (Future Tours Program) series in that time. We will make the best possible teams from the available players.”
The board president thinks the matches will be really entertaining.
He said, “This will be an entertaining series, as all the players will be serious because of the international status.”
