Mohammedan, who drew twice and lost once in their last three games, scored two times in the space of six minutes in the second half to take control of the game

Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited returned to winning ways after three matches as they handed Chittagong Abahani Limited a 2-0 defeat at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Saturday.

The two sides played out a goalless draw in the first phase.

It was the port city outfit though who could’ve taken the lead in the 27th minute but the Mohammedan goalkeeper denied Momodou Bah.

Three minutes later, the Motijheel-based side missed a golden opportunity to break the deadlock when Suleyman Diabate’s header from a Atiqur Rahman Meshu free-kick evaded the target.

Mohammedan, who drew twice and lost once in their last three games, scored two times in the space of six minutes in the second half to take control of the game.

The Black and Whites went ahead in the 66th minute through a spot-kick from Japanese midfielder Uriyu Nagata before Mali forward Diabate doubled the lead six minutes later.

Mohammedan have 17 points from 18 matches, including four wins and five draws, while Chittagong Abahani have 22 points, having played a game more.
