Shakib joins 600-club in single WC edition after Tendulkar, Hayden

Friday's 66-run innings against Pakistan at Lord’s saw him become the third batsman in history to score 600-plus runs in a single World Cup edition after Sachin Tendulkar of India and Mathew Hayden of Australia

In-form Shakib al Hasan yet again scored a half-century, top-scoring with 66 in the Bangladesh innings. 

Shakib’s 66 came off 77 deliveries with half a dozen boundaries. 

The southpaw finished the tournament with 606 runs to his tally in eight innings with an average of 86.57 and strike rate of 96.03. 

The Magura lad scored two hundreds and five half-centuries in this World Cup.

His highest score in this World Cup is 124 not out against the West Indies in Taunton. 

He also took 11 wickets in eight innings. 

Friday's 66-run innings against Pakistan at Lord’s saw him become the third batsman in history to score 600-plus runs in a single World Cup edition after Sachin Tendulkar of India and Mathew Hayden of Australia.

Tendulkar made 673 runs in 11 innings in the 2003 World Cup while Hayden aggregated 659 runs in 10 innings in the 2007 World Cup.
