Mohammad Ruman Shana carried on his fine form in the World Cup Stage 4 as he won his first two games in the elimination round of the men's recurve individual event Wednesday to move to the third round in Berlin, Germany.

The country's top archer, who won Bangladesh's first ever medal (bronze) at World Archery Championship last month, beat Rajan Kalapurayil of Switzerland by 6-2 sets before defeating Japanese archer Nomura Tsubasa by the same margin in the second round.

Ruman will now face a tough contest in the upcoming round Thursday as he is tied with 2019 World Archery Championship gold-medalist Brady Elison of the USA, who won bronze in the Rio Olympics 2016.

Meanwhile in the women’s individual recurve event, Beauty Roy beat Sri Lankan Mehak Sangani by 6-2 sets in the first round before losing to Alexandra Mirca by straight 0-6 sets in the second round, and was thus eliminated.

Bangladesh mixed recurve team comprising Ruman and Beauty could not make it to the second round after losing to Croatia by 5-1 sets.
