It was a brilliant all-round display from Shakib al Hasan as he finished with bowling figure of 5/29 in his 10 overs

The in-from Shakib al Hasan struck with the ball to give Bangladesh crucial breakthroughs in a vital moment of the game. 

Shakib scored 51 runs in the first innings, off 69 deliveries, to help Bangladesh post a challenging 262 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton. 

In reply, Afghanistan started confidently and scored at a decent run rate in the first 10 overs. 

After 10 overs, Afghanistan were 48 without loss, looking comfortable milking ones and twos all around the ground. 

Bangladesh captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza brought Shakib in the 11th over and the world’s No 1 all-rounder struck immediately by picking up the wicket of Rahmat Shah in his first over.

Shakib’s most productive over came in the 29th over when he bagged two wickets in a crucial stage. 

Well-set Afghan skipper Gulbadin Naib was caught by Liton Das at extra cover in the first ball of the 29th over. 

Two balls later, Shakib took the important wicket of Mohammad Nabi by cleaning him up. 

It was a brilliant all-round display from Shakib as he finished with bowling figure of 5/29 in his 10 overs.
