Minhajul Abedin informed that Mosaddek Hossain’s condition has improved and he is fit now, but the team will wait for Saifuddin with the Afghanistan clash scheduled to be held Monday at Rose Bowl Stadium in Southampton

Bangladesh chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu informed that Saifuddin is uncertain for the next match against Afghanistan due to injury while Mosaddek Hossain is in contention to return to the playing XI.

Both the players have taken part in all the matches for the Tigers in the World Cup so far with the exception of the Australia match where they were ruled out owing to injury.

Saifuddin has taken nine wickets in four innings while Mosaddek, who has batted in the lower middle-order, played a brilliant innings against the West Indies in the tri-nation ODI series final last month.

Minhajul informed that Mosaddek’s condition has improved and he is fit now, but the team will wait for Saifuddin with the Afghan clash scheduled to be held Monday at Rose Bowl Stadium in Southampton.

“We have injury concerns on two players as you know all-rounder Saifuddin and Mosaddek were ruled out against Australia. These two players are recovering. Our players are playing since the first week of May. It’s a long tour overall. Mosaddek has become fit and hopefully will be available for the next match. And as for Saifuddin, we will receive an update on his injury from the physio [Saturday]. We will take decision on his availability according to that,” said Minhajul Saturday outside the Grand Harbour Hotel where the Bangladesh team are residing right now in Southampton.

Bangladesh had an optional practice session Saturday.

Five players went to the practice session and Mosaddek was one of them but Saifuddin did not train as he took rest to recover fully from his injury before the next game.
