Bangladesh archers disappoint on day four

In the final day of the tournament Saturday, Bangladesh’s Mohammad Ruman Shana, Mohammad Imdadul Haque Milon and Mohammad Hakim Ahmed Rubel will face off against the Philippines in the recurve men’s team event’s 1/8 qualification round BAF

A total of five gold medal games will take place Saturday, including the recurve men’s singles and team event, and the recurve women’s singles, team event and the mixed team event

Bangladesh archers put in a disappointing display on day four of the 2019 Asia Cup World Ranking Tournament, stage-1, hosted by Bangladesh Archery Federation under the banner of “Teer Go For Gold”project.

In the compound men’s team event, Bangladesh’s Ashim Kumar Das, Mohammad Abul Kashem Mamun and Sheikh Sojib lost to Kazakhstan by a score of 228-222 in the quarter-final.

In the compound women’s team category, Bangladesh’s Sushmita Banik, Banya Akter and Shamoly Roy exited in the semi-final after losing to India by a score of 233-216.

Earlier in the quarter-final, the Bangladesh trio beat Iran by a score of 220-215.

Later in the bronze medal match, the women in red and green lost to Kyrgyzstan by a score of 229-200.

In the compound mixed team event, Bangladesh’s Ashim and Sushmita lost to Malaysia by a score of 154-148 in the quarter-final after beating the Philippines by a score of 152-150 in the 1/8 qualification round.

In the final day of the tournament Saturday, Bangladesh’s Mohammad Ruman Shana, Mohammad Imdadul Haque Milon and Mohammad Hakim Ahmed Rubel will face off against the Philippines in the recurve men’s team event’s 1/8 qualification round.

Meanwhile in the recurve women’s team event, Bangladesh’s Diya Siddiqui, Beauty Ray and Nasrin Akter will take on Chinese Taipei in the 1/8 qualification round.

In the recurve mixed team event, Ruman and Diya will lock horns with Vietnam in the 1/8 qualification round.
