First Division Chess begins

The First Division Chess League got underway in Dhaka Thursday

In the first round matches, Janata Bank Welfare Society beat Uttara Central Club 3-1, Agrani Bank Chess Team defeated Mohakhali Pradib Sangha 4-0, Mir Chess Club beat Khelaghar Chess Sangha of Gopalganj by 3.5-1.5 points, Debdas Biswas Smriti Sangsad defeated Legend Faraz Ayaiz Chess Team by 2.5-1.5 points and Kasparov Chess Club drew with Basir Memorial Chess Club 2-2

The Walton 1st Division Chess League 2018 got underway Thursday at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall room, National Sports Council in Dhaka.

A total of 11 teams are participating in the event.

In the first round matches, Janata Bank Welfare Society beat Uttara Central Club 3-1, Agrani Bank Chess Team defeated Mohakhali Pradib Sangha 4-0, Mir Chess Club beat Khelaghar Chess Sangha of Gopalganj by 3.5-1.5 points, Debdas Biswas Smriti Sangsad defeated Legend Faraz Ayaiz Chess Team by 2.5-1.5 points and Kasparov Chess Club drew with Basir Memorial Chess Club 2-2.

The event is being held in accordance with the round-robin league system.

The top two teams will qualify for the Premier Division Chess League while the bottom two sides will be relegated to the 2nd Division Chess League.
