A total of 1725 students from 63 men’s and 52 women’s schools will take part in the competition

The five-day long Vasavi School Kabaddi 2018 Dhaka Metropolis (men’s and women’s) tournament, organised by Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation and sponsored by Vasavi Fashions Limited, gets underway Wednesday.

A total of 1725 students from 63 men’s and 52 women’s schools will take part in the competition. The details of the tournament were announced in a press conference Tuesday.

BKF general secretary Habibur Rahman said, “Kabaddi is not only a physical game. Skill is an important aspect. That is why several boys and girls are getting encouraged with this game. Besides Asia, the game is spreading across Europe, America and Africa.”

The champion will receive Tk40,000 while the runners up side will get Tk30,000. Talented players from this tournament will also participate in the Kids Kabaddi programme in India.
