Bangladesh archery got a boost before the Asian Games next week as City Group extended its financial support for “Teer Go For Gold” project while revealing its budget for the second year's activities in its five-year contract with the archery federation.
The annual budget of Tk18m from the opening year has been extended to Tk22m in the latest budget revealed at the Bangladesh Olympic Association auditorium Saturday. The budget includes hosting two domestic and three international events, along with the wages and expenditures of the foreign coach and other coaching staffs. Tk10,000 each has been allocated to 10 archers out of 19 in the national team.
The national archery side are all set to fly for Indonesia Thursday for the Asian Games and all the team members, along with German head coach Frederick Martin, were present on the occasion. Archery federation general secretary Kazi Razib Uddin Ahmed Chapol set their target of reaching the quarter-final, which he thinks would be a “milestone”. Frederick termed the sponsor's initiatives as “high motivation” for them and said they are ready to give their best.
