US-based global sportswear giant Nike is launching a performance hijab for Muslim women athletes. Social media has already caught on to the hype as many users tweeted their positive reception of the Pro Hijab.
The product development took 13 months and incorporated inputs from several athletes, including Olympic hopeful figure skater Zahra Lari from UAE.

“I was thrilled and a bit emotional to see Nike prototyping a Hijab,” said the Emirati, who posted a photo of herself on Instagram wearing the garment. The Guardian describes the pull-on hijab as made of light, stretchy fabric that includes tiny holes for breathability and an elongated back. It will come in three colours: black, 'vast grey' and 'obsidian'.
