Apart from a dramatic slowdown in subscriptions during the first three months of 2021, Netflix has had another great year as it continues to attract new users who have turned to the streaming pioneer after theatres had shut down. Prominent directors and actors are finally leaving behind their initial cynicism and warming up to the streaming giant as it continues to deliver quality content.

At the 93rd Academy Awards ceremony, Netflix broke all records by bagging seven Oscars, the most won by any distributor since 2017, thereby solidifying its status as a force to be reckoned with.
