Limited series, “Impeachment,” the latest addition to FX’s “American Crime Story” universe, is set to unveil the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal that erupted in the 1990s. The series will closely follow the political and personal repercussions of the debacle, and give Lewinsky an opportunity to "fully reclaim my narrative."

Based on Jeffrey Toobin’s book ‘A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought down a President,’ the series will debut on FX on September 7.

The series’ official synopsis reads: “‘Impeachment: American Crime Story’ is a limited series examining the national crisis that led to the first impeachment of a U.S. President in over a century. It tells this story through the eyes of the women at the center of the events, who were thrust into the public spotlight during a time of corrosive partisan rancor, shifting sexual politics and a changing media landscape. The series shows how power lifts some and disposes of others in the halls of our most sacred institutions.”

Here are the actors and their real-life counterparts:

Clive Owen as Bill Clinton

Clive Owen plays the 42nd president Bill Clinton who was 49 years old at the time. "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky,” he famously quoted. There have been several sexual assault allegations against him since the ‘90s, all of which the former President vehemently denied.

In 2020, she said, "I defended and stood by him because I thought the impeachment process was wrong, but that wasn't the necessary answer to what I would do with my marriage. It was not—to me—the same. I still had to decide whether I wanted to stay in the marriage, whether I thought it was worth saving."

Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones

Annaleigh Ashford is depicting the former Arkansas state employee and one of the most vocal Clinton accusers Paula Jones. She accused Clinton of exposing himself to her in an Arkansas hotel room in 1991, long before the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal broke out.

Judith Light as Susan Carpenter-McMillan
