Netflix released The Irishman to rave reviews last year. The streaming platform was even eyeing a Best Picture win at the Oscars with Scorsese’s epic crime drama.

Now Criterion collection has released a 36-minute short documentary on the making of The Irishman. Thanks to Netflix, the featurette is now available on Netflix Film Club’s Youtube channel.

The documentary features several interviews with the director alongside actors Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, and Joe Pesci, and delves into the de-aging technique as well the film’s famously massive production design with 295 sets and locations, including 20 stage sets. Production designer Bob Shaw discloses how Scorsese told him that despite the size of the project the film has to look like ‘nothing.’

Additionally, hit man Frank Sheeran looks back at the secrets he kept as a loyal member of the Bufalino crime family in this neat 36-minute behind-the-scenes featurette.
