One of the most celebrated actors of the film industry, Sujata was hospitalized in critical condition after suffering a heart attack

Veteran actor Salma Begum Sujata suffered a heart attack on Tuesday, November 24, and was rushed to the hospital.

She is currently receiving treatment at the Coronary Care Unit of the National Heart Foundation Hospital in Mirpur area.

According to New Age, the Rupban star suffered a heart attack at her residence in Basnasri. Doctors at National Heart Foundation Hospital are waiting for her test results to make decisions regarding stenting in heart.

The legendary actor was born as Tandra Majumder in Thanapara area of Kushtia. She made appearances in classic films like Daak Babu, Jarina Sundori, Oporajey, Kanchanmala, Alibaba and others, over the course of a five-decade career.

A recipient of Bangladesh National Film Award for Lifetime Achievement, Sujata is best known for playing Rupban Konna in 1965 film Rupban.
