As an advertising agency professional, Jobaed Ahsan knows the nuances of selling a story well but he never thought of penning a drama up until the beginning of this year.
He did, and his first drama Gojodontini starring Afran Nisho and Mehzabien Chowdhury became an immense hit. It recorded nearly six million views on Youtube so far.
Ahsan first published Gojodontini as a series story (nine parts) on his facebook page. His page has a large number of followers. “Some of my followers told me that they liked the story and it could be a good drama. I was later contacted by the CEO of BongoBD who showed his interest to make a drama based on my story,” Ahsan said.
“I never thought my drama would become such a major hit,” Ahsan told Dhaka Tribune, “The fact that a director like Mizanur Rahman Aryan directed the drama was a reason behind its success but it wouldn’t be appreciated by the viewers if it didn’t have a unique story.”
Banking on the success of his drama, Ahsan is going to come in front of the audience with another drama on this Eid-ul-Azha. “The drama was supposed to air in Eid-ul-Fitr but the ongoing pandemic put part of the work on hold. Now the work of the drama has started again and it will finish before Eid.”
“I want to keep the story and the name secret now. You will know when it will be released. This drama is also directed by Mizanur Rahman Aryan. I can guarantee you that this will have another unique story,” he tsaid.
