Chhayanaut will launch the program on May 25 at 7pm on their YouTube channel
Chhayanaut has been going digital celebrating the momentous occasions during the coronavirus pandemic.
National poet Kazi Nazrul Islam's 121st birthday, on May 25, will be no different. This year, however, the day also coincides with Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest festival of the Muslims.
A cultural program titled Nobo Jug Oi Elo Oi will be launched at Chhayanaut's YouTube channel- Chhayanaut Digital Platform.
The program will be available to stream from 7pm on the poet's birthday.
Chhayanaut had celebrated Pohela Boishakh and Rabindranath Tagore's birthday in a similar fashion earlier this year amid the pandemic.
Born on May 25, 1899 at Churulia village in Burdwan district of West Bengal, India, Kazi Nazrul Islam had inspired people to fight against injustice and repression of the colonial rule through his writings.
The Bangladesh government conferred upon him the status of National Poet in 1972.
President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday issued separate messages highlighting the colourful life of the poet and his contributions to Bangla language and literature.
Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar are scheduled to air various programs on the occasion on Monday.
