Turning public fears into reality, authorities in Bangladesh have confirmed first cases of Covid-19 in recent days. The shooting of Apurba and Faria's upcoming film titled Jodi..Kintu..Tobuo has been delayed for 15 days amid the Covid-19 scare.
Shihab Shaheen, the director of the film said: "A number of our film crews are from abroad. We have been instructed to maintain distance from them for a while. Our production company has sent me an email on Tuesday morning, asking to postpone the shooting."
He added: "Our film is the first international project of ZEE5, an Indian production company. That's why they are currently taking all the precautions that they can."
The shooting was supposed to start from Tuesday, at Mondira Shooting House in Uttara, Dhaka.
Despite praising the decision to postpone the shooting, the director said with a hint of frustration: "We have been relentlessly working for the past five months. All of us were looking forward to the first day of our shooting. As a film-maker, this news of delay is very painful for me to accept."
The film stars popular Bangladeshi actors Ziaul Faruq Apurba and Nusraat Faria in the lead roles.
The release of director Masud Hasan Ujjal's long awaited film, Unoponchash Batash, has also been delayed on Monday because of detection of coronavirus in Bangladesh.
