According to the film-maker, Neel Mukut is an unplanned film, the idea of which came to him after witnessing someone crying on the plane
The poster for Kamar Ahmad Simon’s new film Neel Mukut was released today, February 13. Earlier, the film received uncut censorship in only 10 days. The poster is in blue scheme background with flowers and leaves featuring a woman with bright, eager eyes looking far beyond.
The poster of Kamar’s first film Shunte Ki Pao! caused a sensation among viewers and art connoisseurs back in 2014. Kamar remarked: “Lots of people from home and abroad have personally collected the poster and still sometimes asks for it. Renowned publishers Baatighar has thus joined as the publicity partner with the film Neel Mukut."
"Now everyone can collect both posters from Baatighar outlets in Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet.”
After winning the Golden Conch from Mumbai International Film Festival and Grand Prix from Cinema Du Reel in Paris, Shunte Ki Pao! went on to win the National Film Award too. However, Kamar’s declaration to release Neel Mukut locally before any festival has come as a surprise.
Kamar says, “After the enormous festival success of my first film, lots of people asked me if I only make films for festivals. Since then I had decided to release a film locally before submitting to any festival.”
According to the film-maker, Neel Mukut is an unplanned film, the idea of which came to him after witnessing someone crying on the plane. Quiet on Set Production is the distribution partner of the film.
