Hoichoi, the popular streaming platform for Bangla language content, is bringing back “Panch Phoron” for this Valentine’s Day.Panch Phoron is a special series by Hoichoi, in which every episode shows an original story directed by a different director. Among the five stories shown last year, three were West Bengal productions and two were Bangladeshi productions . The Bangladeshi directors last year were Diponkor Dipon and Tauquir Ahmed.
Just as last year, two episodes in this year’s Panch Phoron 2 were also Bangladeshi productions. The Bangladeshi directors for this year were Giasuddin Salim and Nurul Alam Atique. Here are the brief details about the five stories of Panch Phoron 2 – releasing this February 14.
Bangladeshi Productions
Donor

Starring: Tariq Anam Khan, Yash Rohan, Orchita Sporshia, Fazlur Rahman Babu
Synopsis: Muffazal Karim, after a few days from retirement, falls clinically ill. Both his kidneys have stopped functioning. He is adamant not to take the kidney from his only son Adnan. Then a poor and distant relative named Kasim Ali finally arranges for a kidney for Karim, for a large sum of money. Kasim’s young daughter Saleha is the donor. On the other hand, Adnan and Saleha are childhood lovers. But Adnan has kept this as a secret from his father. Saleha does not want to risk her life and donate her kidney. But her father has already taken a large sum of money from Adnan’s father for it. Adnan is in a dilemma. He needs to choose between his father and his lover.

Synopsis: This story is about a love triangle. Two brothers, Ravi and Abhi, both love the same girl named Dipa. However, Dipa fell for Abhi, while being in a relationship with Ravi. She breaks up with Ravi and starts seeing Abhi. Ravi gets hurt, but he cannot forget about Dipa.

Praay Kafka

Starring: Amrita Chattopadhyay, RJ Anindo, Aindrila Sharma
Synopsis: One day a youngster wakes up and finds that his soul is stuck in the body of another man. He tells his girlfriend about this, but she disbelieves him at first. Then after she has accepted it, she tells him that it will be impossible for her to love him anymore. The boy tries to justify that this should work out, but she tells him that love is not like math. Even though he has become better looking, she is still uncomfortable and gets the feeling that he is not the same person. How the boy adjusts to his new life in the body of another man is revealed in “Pray Kafka.”

Synopsis: Today is the last day of Ayan and Rajanya's happy married life. After receiving the divorce paper, Ayan is shattered. Although, he does not let it show on his face. Rajanya feels that their marriage has lost its charm. She decides to live separately.
Afternoon Audition

Synopsis: A young girl prepares for a daunting audition while tackling her own demons. A frantic woman gets consumed by the shadows of her past love. A middle-aged man gets dragged into circumstances he is unprepared to be involved in. And then there is a forgotten silhouette of a man who is still seeking something unattainable. An audition that is slated to occur in some non-descript part of the city throws these four characters into a head-on collision with one another in myriad of ways. Be it the strings of fate or mere points of coincidences, this audition weave them into an uncanny unveiling of a mysterious slow-paced Kolkata afternoon.
