Curtain falls on ICFF Bangladesh

Organized by CFSB, the week-long festival began on January 24. This year, the only festival dedicated to children screened 173 films from 39 participating countries, including Bangladesh, India, Mexico, Spain, France, Germany, Canada, Qatar, Korea, Armenia, and others

Curtain fell on the International Children’s Film Festival (ICFF) Bangladesh yesterday (Friday) with a promise to come back next year as a platform for young film-makers. 

Closing ceremony of the 13th edition of the festival was held at the main auditorium of  National Public Library in Shahbag.

Young film-makers received awards on the last day of the festival. Promising young film-makers received crest, certificate and prize money which will inspire them to get a break in the industry as better directors in the near future.  

President of Children’s Film Society Bangladesh Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, General Secretary Munira Morshed Munni, film-maker and founder of the festival and Children’s Film Society Bangladesh (CFSB) Morshedul Islam, and festival Director Fariha Jahin Biva were also present at the ceremony, and delivered speeches.

Those films were screened under different sections such as Bangladeshi Children Film-makers Section, Special Film Competition, International Competitive Film Section, Young Bangladeshi Film Section and Bangabandhu Through My Lens - a new section which was introduced in observance of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu.

Winners of 13th International Children’s Film Festival:

Best Director (under 18): Comfortable Position

Best Director (International): Good Girl

Best Feature Film (International): Romy’s Salon

Best Short Film (International): Day X

Young Talent Prize: The Smoker (Ragib Mohammad Shafayat Shah)

Social Film Award: Khoka Jokhon Chhoto Chhilen ( Sudipto Shaha)

Best Film (under 18): Badha (Bibhayan Chakma)

2nd Best Film (under 18): To The Sleepless Youth ( Supriyo Poroma)

3rd Best Film (under 18): Nobody Responsible (Farhanur Imtiaz)

Special Award: Boon is Missing, Amader Golpo
