Photographer Iftekhar Wahid Iftee followed the journey of Shahabuddin Ahmed as a painter for the last 15 years. This exhibition is an endeavour on Iftee's part to capture the dedication, courage, and patience behind Shahabuddin's artistic vision

Acclaimed photojournalist Iftekhar Wahid Iftee's nine-day long photography exhibition on the life of world renowned painter and freedom fighter Shahabuddin Ahmed was inaugurated on Thursday at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka.

The program was presided over by Professor Emeritus Dr Anisuzzaman. The honourable minister of home affairs Asaduzzaman Khan also attended the event as the chief guest.

Photographer Iftekhar Wahid Iftee followed the journey of Shahabuddin Ahmed as a painter for the last 15 years. This exhibition is an endeavour on Iftee's part to capture the dedication, courage, and patience behind Shahabuddin's artistic vision.

Minister Asaduzzaman said: "I cannot make art myself. But artists like Shahbuddin Ahmed keep me enthralled. I am wishing the young photographer Iftee great success."

Profesor Dr Anisuzzaman said, "I have seen Iftee's work before. And I think, Shahabuddin's persona and art has truly come to life through Iftee's camera."

This exhibition is being held by the IRC on the occasion of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birthday. Shahabuddin Ahmed, who was a platoon commander for the Bangladesh Liberation War, has shed light on the remarkable life of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman through his paintings.
