The film will be screened as a part of the on-going 18th Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF)
Popular Indian actor Rituparna Sengupta will be present during the screening of her film, Ahaa Re. The film will be screened today, as a part of the on-going 18th Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF), at the main auditorium of National Museum at 5pm, in the city.
The actor will also attend Q&A session, followed by the screening. Rituparna Sengupta was born on November 7, 1971 in Kolkata. The actor- producer is known for films like Dahan (1998), Kaali Topi Lal Rumaal (2000) and Teenkahon (2014).
Directed by Kolkata’s Ranjan Ghosh, cast of Ahaa Re also includes Bangladeshi actor Arifin Shuvoo in the lead role, alongside Rituparna.
Story of the film involves two completely different individuals from two different countries and religion who have only one thing in common-their passion for cooking.
The director told Dhaka Tribune Showtime: “I feel I completed a circle. It’s a love story between a Bangladeshi Muslim chef and an Indian Brahmin cook.
“It’s a testimony to the fact that borders can’t separate humanity. It’s very emotional for me to visit my ancestral roots for the first time. Attending the festival and the International women’s conference has been an inexplicable experience.”
