Ronger Gaari, a Bangladeshi painters’ organization, has inaugurated a week long watercolour exhibition at the capital’s Shilpakala Academy in Segunbagicha on Friday. The exhibition will showcase the work of 47 talented young watercolour artists.

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky was the chief guest for the event, while renowned artist Biren Shom and Jagannath University Fine Arts Department’s Professor Dr Rashid Amin were present as special guests.

Ekushey Padak winning artist Professor Samarjit Ray Chowdhury inaugurated the exhibition at Shilpakala Academy’s National Art Gallery on Friday evening.

Watercolour enthusiasts of all ages from Dhaka attended the ceremony.

Ronger Gaari had previously organized various watercolour workshops.

The first workshop was organized during early 2018, and six painters from three different categories won the chance to attend a specialized art camp in Darjeeling, India.

The six painters who attended the art camp were awarded with crests by the guests before the inauguration ceremony began.

The exhibition, jointly organized by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and Ronger Gaari, is open for all and will end on Thursday evening.
