Jalsha contained a wide variety of music from hard rock to contemporary modern tunes. It featured the classics of John Denver, the Beatles, James, Moushumi Bhoumik, Anjan Dutta, and Niaz Muhammad Chowdhury
Amidst all the musical shows where public demands take precedence to the musician’s choice, some young minds arranged a show where the liberty of the performer was front and centre. FBS Music Wing, the sole music club of the Faculty of Business Studies, Dhaka University launched their dream event, Jalsha, on October 2 at the premises of TSC Swimming Pool.
The musicians of this student club were the performers on that evening. Jalsha contained a wide variety of music from hard rock to contemporary modern tunes. It featured the classics of John Denver, the Beatles, James, Moushumi Bhoumik, Anjan Dutta, and Niaz Muhammad Chowdhury. The musicians also paid tribute to Ayub Bachchu. One of the most unique performance was Utshorgo Tomake which was a production of the students themselves.
The evening became even more special with the presence of Shayan Chowdhury Arnob, who had never performed at DU before. The audience indulged in the known melodies of his greatest hits like, Shey Je Boshe Ache, Ei Shohor Amar, Hariye Giyechi, and many more. Even the autumn heat failed to dampen the spirit of the listeners that night.
Dhaka Tribune, Channel i, and Capital FM 94.8 were the media partners of the event, which was sponsored by Airtel.
FBS Music Wing aspires to arrange Jalsha once every year to celebrate their passion for music.
