Shilpakala inaugurates appreciation courses on Art Realization and Aesthetic Consciousness

These courses have been specifically designed to improve participants’ understanding of art criticism, art realization, art creation and writing

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, the principal state-sponsored national cultural center of the country, has recently inaugurated five appreciation courses on Art Realization and Aesthetic Consciousness (Shilpabodh O Chetona)These courses have been specifically designed to improve participants’ understanding of art criticism, art realization, art creation and writing. The five courses will be in painting, theater, music and dance, respectively.

The event kicked off with the inauguration of 10-day-long dance appreciation course at the Seminar hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy’s National Theater on Sunday evening. This course is being held in an effort to practice dance criticism and writing through dance lessons and tastings in continuation of the appreciation courses on Art Realization and Aesthetic Consciousness.

Jahangirnagar University Department of Drama and Dramatics’ Chairman Soma Mumtaz and instructor Sharmili Bandopadhyay were present during the inauguration. Dr Afsar Ahmed, Dr Yusuf Hasan, Dr Israfil Ahmed, Dr. Bhaswar Bandopadhyay, Tamanna Rahman, Benazir Salam, Munmun Ahmed, Shamim Ara Nipa, Rafi Hossain and Sudeshna Sayang Prabha will be instructors of this course.

The inaugural ceremony was also attended by the academy’s Training Department’s Director Sushant Kumar Sarkar, Assistant Director Abdul Rakibil Bari, Cultural Officer Afsana Khan Runa and Instructor Fifa Chakma.

The starting dates of the other courses will be announced on Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy’s official Facebook page soon.
