The original Turkish title of Fatmagul is Fatmagul Sucu Ne (What is Fatmagul's Fault?), produced by Ay Yapım, and broadcast on Turkish TV channel Kanal D.

The series, originally released in 2010, revolves around Fatmagul, and Kerim who are the lead characters of the series. Fatmagul, a small town girl, is raped one night by three rich drunk guys named Erdogan, Selim, and Vural.

Kerim is friends with these three, and was present during this incident. He did not take any part in it but is in remorse as he was present during the incident and did nothing to stop it.

Later on, the lawyer uncle, and parents of these rich perpetrators pressurize Fatmagul to marry Kerim by bribing her sister in law. Fatmagul had a fiance named Mustafa who wants revenge for this incident. This makes the couple leave their hometown, and come to Istanbul.

The story revolves further when Kerim falls in love with Fatmagul, and supports her in the fight against her rapists.

The Bangla dubbed version of Fatmagul started on Deepto TV from June 2, Saturday to Friday, on 6:30pm and 9:30pm.
