Yash Rohan, ABM Sumon join the race to become Masud Rana

Jaaz Multimedia will make three Masud Rama films, based on the first three books of the series, over the next five years

Jaaz Multimedia is looking for a perfect candidate to play the lead role of MausdRana in their forthcoming film Masud Rana. At first, it was announced that the winner of Channel-i reality show, Ke hobe Masud Rana would play the character. However, there seems to new updates about the matter.

Alimullah Khan, CEO of Jaaz Multimedia said: “Anybody can be finalized for the role besides the competition.”

The production house also informed that the Hollywood based productionteam, consisting of a producer, director and a fighting team, auditioned possible candidates to play the iconic spy character of Bangla literature. 

On August 24, private auditions were held and ABM Sumon (Dhaka Attack) and Yash Rohan Swapnajaal ) auditioned for the role, along with three contestants of Ke hobe Masud Rana.

When asked about the point of the reality show, Alimullah Khan replied: “Anybody could be MasudRana. There are international level producers also involved in the project, thus we have an obligation to find best suitable Masud Rana. 

“We want to find somebody who can portray the character on silver screen with 100% authenticity.”

He further said that he doesn’t have any paper work regarding theChannel I reality show, and he is not aware of such contract between the private channel and Jaaz. 

AMB Sumontold told this correspondent that he enjoyed his audition and is waiting for the results. 

“They(Jaaz) are very serious and positive about the project.”

Jaaz Multimedia will make three Masud Rama films, based on the first three books of the series, over the next five years. The books from which the films will be adapted are, Dhongsho-Pahar, Bharatanatyam, and Shwarnomrigha.

The film’s screenplay has been developed by Jazz Multimedia chairman Abdul Aziz, Asif Akber, and contemporary popular thriller writer Nazim-ud-Daula. 

The film will be released in cinemas globally in English, and in Bangla at cinemas in Bangladesh, and Kolkata.
