Colours, a group art exhibition organized by the Faculty of Fine Art of Dhaka University (DU), is set to end today.

The DU Faculty of Fine Art has been organizing the exhibition for the past four years.

The exhibition features a diverse range of works in various mediums, by participating artistes that include Farhana Afroz, Farzana Islam,Monidipa Dasgupta, Mukti Bhowmik, Rebeka Sultana, Monira Sultana, Rehana Yesmin, RifatJ ahan and Shaila Akhter.

Shaila Akhter’s Super Moon is an example of a mixed media artwork at the exhibition. The installation expresses the dreams of a woman in warm blue colour. Meanwhile, Rebeka Sultana’s Unkown Love-80, done on canvas with acrylic, depicts a young girl in colourful attire and jewellery. A big white flower in the subject’s hair is particularly eye catching.

The terracotta works on display at the exhibition include Dreamscape 15 by Farzana Islam. The artwork shows three human figurines that appear to be a happy family at first glance.

Eminent architect and poet RabiulHossain attended the opening ceremony of the group exhibition as the chief guest, while eminent artist Kanak Chapa Chakma was also present as the special guest.

The exhibition began at La Galerie of Alliance Française de Dhaka in Dhanmondi on August 23, and will end today at 8pm.
