Bangladeshi film and TV stars celebrate Eid

Jaya Ahsan posted pictures showing off her henna tattoos with a mysterious caption on Facebook

Celebrities from the small and silver screens of Bangladesh wished everyone a joyous Eid-ul-Azha on Facebook. Most of them posted pictures of how they celebrated Eid while Shakib Khan took the opportunity to promote his film which released over the Eid holidays.

Jaya Ahsan posted pictures showing off her henna tattoos with a mysterious caption: “I love mehendi and he loves these hands...” This leaves us all to wonder who is the ‘he’ she is referring to. An advocate of animal rights, the actor wrote on a separate post: “Save animal save humanity...”  Earlier this month, her film Ek Je Chhilo Raja won Best Bangla Picture at the 66th National Film Awards, India. 

Shakib Khan

On Eid day, Shakib Khan listed all 154 cinema halls showing his new film Moner Moto Manush Pailam Na.  He later shared what the film is about. “The film is made from a sense of responsibility towards the society. It will help strengthen family ties. It will teach people to love. Contemporary issues of violence against women are explored on the big canvas here,” the post read.  He is the only Bangladeshi star with a film in theatres this Eid. 

Moutushi Biswas

Actor Moutushi Biswas loves festivals. The day before Eid, she posted pictures of her house saying; “Eid dusting, cleaning n(and) gardening with my chhana (daughter).” The day after Eid, she was seen with actors Bijori Barkatullah, Azad Abul Kalam, Shatabdi Wadud, Sazu Khadem and Intekhab Dinar in an elevator selfie outside Shahiduzzaman Selim and Rosie Siddiqui’s apartment. She is starring in the upcoming web series Puff Daddy, directed by Masud Hasan Ujjal. 

Ananta Jalil

Posting a picture with his son, Ananta Jalil wrote in English: “Eid Ul Adha is Eid of sacrifice and commitment of Allah's orders. May Allah bless us with the same in all circles of life, and help all amongst us, who are helpless, worried and waiting for his rehmat. Eid Mubarak!” The star went to Pattaya, Thailand with his family to celebrate Eid. His Iranian co-production film Deen: The Day is currently in post-production.
