Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan has recently announced that his film production company SK Films will install 200 digital projectors across Bangladesh.
The company will gradually install the projectors, titled SK Big Screens, at local cinema halls across the country from the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
Shakib recently told the press: “It is every media personalities’ responsibility to work for the development of the film industry. I am trying my best to do what I can from my position. I have decided to install these advanced projection systems with our producers’ interests in mind. We have already started to work on the project. Cinema-goers can benefit from these machines from Eid-ul-Azha.”
The superstar also said: “The current cinema screens are very poor and can’t properly provide the real color and sound of a film. As a result, the audience gets frustrated, even when watching big budget films. This causes producers to face financial damage. I am not doing this for my financial gain. I am doing this because of the accountability I feel for our film industry.
“A producer invests crores of taka behind a project, but his film cannot do well in the market due to the lack of good projection system. This is the main reason we are doing this,” he added
