Hasina: A Daughter’s Tale to be screened in Durban

The festival will be held from July 18 to 28

Hasina: A Daughter’s Tale, a film based on the life of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, will be screened at the Durban Film Festival in South Africa on Saturday. The film will also be shown at the festival on July 24.

Director Piplu Khan’s  docu-fiction covers the events after the tragic assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and the incredible story of his daughters Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana. The film also highlights the two sisters’ lives after the event.

The screening was confirmed by the Centre for Research and Information (CRI), Bangladesh Awami League’s research organisation.

Marking the 40th anniversary of the Durban film festival, the organizers will celebrate a 40-year history of film and the film industry.

The festival will be held from July 18 to 28.
