The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is due to end today with the final at the 'home of cricket' Lord's stadium in London. For the past two months, cricketers have consistently made the headlines, with their rip-roaring cricket, controversies, mind games, and explanations of heart-breaking defeats. However, behind every successful batsman there is not a Kamran Akmal, but their wives, who are all successful in their respective careers and deserve their time in the spotlight. This Showtime feature will remind the world about the successful women, who support our cricketing icons. Who also shoulder the 

1) Jassym Lora-Andre Russell

Jassym Lora is a Jamaican-American model and Instagram fashion lifestyle influencer from Miami, Florida. After dating for two years, in 2016, she married the mercurial West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell, and they have a daughter, Aaliyah. Lora has already worked for the marketing campaigns of many international brands, but she hopes to be a Victoria's Secret model some day. An avid cricket fan, she is a regular fixture in the stands at all of Russell's matches. 

2) Laura McGoldrick- Martin Guptill

Laura McGoldrick is a radio host, news presenter, sports reporter, and the other half of New Zealand's opening batsman Martin Guptill. She first came to the limelight in 2011 with Sky Sport's The Cricket Show. Ever since, she has become a familiar face reporting major cricket matches both in New Zealand and abroad, along with her regular MC-ing and blogging. She is also a daily presenter on NZ Herald Focus. She has also branched out to acting, appearing in a New Zealand drama series, Westside. She married Guptill in 2014, and describes herself as "a real prepper."

3) Daniella Lloyd- James Anderson

Daniella Lloyd is a famous model in England, and has also worked as an advertising executive. She began modeling at the age of 18, when she featured on the Clothes Show Live at Birmingham. She studied marketing and French at Southampton Institute of Higher Education. After a year of study, she returned to modeling and got signed by big advertising agencies. She has walked the ramp for various big brands, and did a myriad of commercials and product promotions. Daniella, who is six years older than James, met him in August 2004 at a nightclub. She is the one who made the first move, and the couple married in February 2006. Now, she devotes her time to charity, and works for Saying Goodbye, a concern of the Mariposa Trust. The trust helps people who have lost children.

4) Candice Falzon- David Warner

Candice Falzon is a retired Australian professional ironwoman, surf life-saver and a model. Ironman is a sport that combines the four main disciplines of surf lifesaving into a single race: swimming, board paddling, ski paddling and running. She has appeared on two Australian TV shows: It Takes Two, which is a music talent show,  and Australian Hell's Kitchen, a reality cooking show. She married dashing Australian opening batsman David Warner in April 2015. The couple have two daughters.

5) Umme Ahmed Shishir- Shakib Al Hasan

Umme Ahmed Shishir was born and raised in the USA. She studied software engineering at Minnesota University. She met the world's number one all-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan, in England, where he was playing county cricket in 2010. Shakib describes the moment they first met as love-at-first-sight. Shishir frequently received modeling offers for various TV commercials, but she refused most of them. Finally, she appeared for one commercial of mobile phone operator, Banglalink, with her husband. The couple married in 2012.

6) Sue Erasmus- JP Duminy

Sue Erasmus is a famous fashion model from South Africa and a travel blogger. She is also an entrepreneur, and runs a blogging website titled Inspired Women. Sue is very active in charities and social causes, and raises awareness about breast cancer and its research. She has been appointed as a brand ambassador for Nehemiah Safe House, which provides safe shelter for children in need of care and protection. Aside from these roles, she is an avid animal lover, fitness freak and does yoga. She is also known to cook and bake, and did a few baking shows on TV, including The Great Pavillion. She has also co-written a few pages for motivational books. She married Duminy in June 2011.

7) Jessica Taylor- Kevin Pietersen

Jessica Taylor is an English singer, television personality, and dancer who was a member of the Brit Award-winning pop group, Liberty X, for Best British Single and Best British Breakthrough Artist. She took part in BBC's one-off Strictly Ice Dancing in 2005 and came in second place. She also participated in the fourth series of Dancing on Ice and made it to the final, finishing in third place. In 2006, she appeared on a reality TV special of The Weakest Link. She appeared on a celebrity edition of The Chase in November 2013, facing Mark Labbett and winning £75,000 in her individual chase. She also appeared on the game show, Hole in the Wall. She married Pietersen in December 2007.

8) Kyly Boldy- Michael Clarke

Kyly Boldy is an Australian model, who was a presenter for The Weather Channel in 2009. She married Michael Clarke in May 2012. She is currently the brand ambassador and face of Rebel Sport. She has won Miss Indy 1999, Australian Swimwear Model of the Year 2002, Miss Adrenalin Sports Model of the Year 2003, Miss Hawaiian Island 2003, FHM Miss Snow Bunny 2003, and Miss Manly Warringah Sea Eagles NRL 2003.

9) Lee Furlong- Shane Watson

Lee Furlong is an Australian model, television personality, and a sports presenter. She graduated from the University of Wollongong in New South Wales with a bachelor’s degree in communications and journalism. Lee started working at Channel 10 as a presenter on Sports Tonight and Seriously AFL. She worked there for two years and later in 2006,  joined Fox Sports, a 24-hour sports news channel. For the dedication and expertise she showed, she was nominated for “Newcomer of the Year” award by Daily Telegraph. She is much admired in Australia as an ambassador for McGrath Foundation, a charity for breast cancer awareness. The couple married in June 2010.

10) Jessica Bratich- Mitchell Johnson

Jessica Bratich is a successful businesswomen and karate champion. She won the bronze medal in 2006 World Karate Championship and has a black belt in the martial art. She is from Perth, Australia and did her graduation in mass communication.  Jessica now runs her own accessories business. She married Australian speed demon Mitchell Johnson in May 2011, and was very emotional about his retirement.

11) Sania Mirza- Shoaib Malik

Sania Mirza is a professional tennis player from India. She reached the number one position in doubles and has won six Grand Slam titles in her career. From 2003 until her retirement from singles in 2013, she was ranked by the World Tennis Association as India's no 1 player in both single and double categories. Throughout her career, Sania  established herself as the most successful female Indian tennis player and one of the highest-paid and high-profile athletes in the country. She married Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik in April 2010. In this world cup, she was unfairly criticized for accompanying her husband and his team mates to a sheesha lounge in Pakistan. She retorted that she was "not the mother" of the Pakistani cricket team, and they were free to do what they want.

12) Mayanti Langer- Stuart Binny

Mayanti Langer is an Indian sports journalist, who works for the Star Sports network. She has hosted many events like Football Cafe on Zee Sports, the 2010 Fifa World Cup broadcast on ESPN, 2010 Commonwealth Games, 2011 Cricket World Cup, 2014 Indian Super League, 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL), 2019 IPL, and the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. In 2012, she married Indian all-rounder Stuart Binny, who is not currently playing in the national team. 

13) Geeta Basra- Harbhajan Singh

Geeta Basra is of Punjabi-Indian origin who was born in Portsmouth, England. She went to Mumbai, India to pursue an acting career, and made her debut opposite Emraan Hashmi in Dil Diya Hai, released in 2006. She was next seen in Train, a film famous for her kissing scenes with Hashmi. After that, she appeared in Zilla Ghaziabad, Mr Joe B Carvalho, and a music video, Ghum Sum Ghum Sum. She married "the turbanator" Harbhajan Singh in October 2015. Since then, her appearances in films have been sporadic.

14) Hazel Keech- Yuvraj Singh

Hazel Keech is a British-Mauritian model, born in Essex. She studied in London, and performed as a dancer in various stage shows. She learned Indian classical, British and western contemporary dances. She danced in the British program, Agatha Christie's Marple, and Bollywood musical Bombay Dream for their London promotional tour in 2002. She sang in the choir of West End musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. While holidaying in Mumbai, she received many job offers, which lead her to pursue a modeling and acting career in India. She has appeared in various numbers since, but her most notable film was Bodyguard, starring Salman Khan.  She married Yuvraj Singh in November 2016.

15) Anushka Sharma- Virat Kohli

Anushka Sharma is a successful Bollywood actor who made her debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the romantic film, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, released in 2008. She earned the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her debut film. Her next big success was Band Baaj Baarat opposite Ranveer Singh. Over the years, she has become one of the most sought after actors who regularly appears in films with the three Khans of Bollywood: Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir. She married the best batsman of the world Virat Kohli in December 2017.
